Working with a consortium of global partners to rethink development in South West Asia and North Africa

WELCOME TO PLURAL FUTURES

FUND | FOUNDATION | FORUM

Challenging the prevailing development orthodoxy

Plural Futures interrogates inherited assumptions about growth in South West Asia and North Africa — seeking to move beyond the entrenched “aid dependency and conditionality” paradigm that has defined the field for decades.

Through our independent forum, fund, and foundation, we advance a model that replaces one-way flows with genuine exchange, local agency, and self-determined priorities.

Our Fund provides targeted, project-specific investment and deploying the AI Ripple Tool to inform, design, and scale programming with precision and insight. Our Foundation develops frameworks for development that complement national strategies while addressing overlooked gaps and emerging opportunities. Our Forum convenes local and international cross-sector leaders and regional actors to exchange knowledge, align priorities, and cultivate shared strategies for sustainable development.

We combine long-term institutional development with responsive, urgent interventions — recognising that lasting change depends on addressing immediate needs alongside systemic transformation.

Our Approach

  • Those most affected lead both vision and practice

  • Drawing upon the strengths of both sectors for sustainable outcomes

  • Exchange and adaptive problem solving

  • Prioritising local agency, knowledge and ownership

  • Context specific solutions that integrate insights with cultural sensitivity and nuance

  • Integrating economics, governance, climate and social policy, responding to the unique challenges of each region and community

  • Multi-polar cooperation as the foundation for a fairer global order

Our Model for Change: The Quartet

An integrated framework for locally-led recovery and sustainable development across four interlinked pillars.
